Statement

This collection of 15 original and large format paintings uses the horizon line as a powerful method to explore human nature and our shared processes of expressing and revealing our authentic selves. The Horizon Line acts as a guide and metaphor of hope, expansion, perspective and the wild unknown. Often our authentic self is unfamiliar and kept beneath the surface waiting to be discovered and set free.  Little by little the viewer quietly dives deeper into the waters of their being and courageously leans into the joys and discomfort of what they may find. The hope is that through this inquiry our shared vulnerability will ultimately bind us to one another and make known that we are part of something larger than ourselves, tightly connected through our shared joys, suffering, and desire to be known, understood and loved.
